The environmental and social crisis and an ever increasing pressure on natural resources have triggered a renewed reflection on the notion of property. Faced with a rampant privatisation of the access, management and distribution of the planet’s common goods, we must rethink our categories.
The same kind of reflection applies to “Intellectual Property” rights. In this regard, a restrictive approach of patent rights and copyright can increasingly become an obstacle for access to knowledge. Whereas the digital era has made knowledge and culture accessible for the greater public and contributes to bring about a worldwide knowledge society, the sustainability of the creative class is in question. The aim of this conference is to explore the different ways out of this paradox and find a mutually beneficial solution.
How can we guarantee a fair remuneration of authors and creators together with the universal access and circulation of knowledge and culture?

Libre Accès interpelle le Président de la république sur le respect des droits des artistes et des citoyens à la création et l’accès à la culture. Libre Accès est un réseau de promotion de l’art libre et de sensibilisation aux enjeux du libre.

Acreditamos que a cultura não é simplesmente uma forma de expressão das relações e sentimentos humanos, mas que ela está inserida numa trama social que a transforma num poderoso instrumento político. Justamente por estar inserida nesta trama, com repercussões políticas e sociais, não basta apenas que um produto cultural tenha um conteúdo livre, é preciso que o processo de criação e difusão também seja livre, garantindo a todos condições para criar e acessar esse patrimônio cultural comum. A cultura livre é, portanto, um passo na construção de uma sociedade livre.
BIG AND SMALL EARNERS FROM ROYALTIES AND LICENSE FEES
Nesta perspectiva, convocamos organizações, coletivos e indivíduos para discutir o projeto da cultura livre que queremos no Diálogo Interplanetário de Cultura Livre, que acontecerá durante o Fórum Social Grande Porto Alegre 10 anos, na cidade de Canoas, entre os dias 25 e 29 de janeiro de 2010.
Queremos dar início à construção internacional de um espaço autônomo para a discussão de uma cultura contestatória, que abarque aqueles em busca da emancipação e da liberdade na produção cultural com vistas a um Fórum Internacional de Cultura Livre, no segundo semestre de 2010.
O Diálogo Interplanetário de Cultura Livre já conta com articulações em países como Argentina, Uruguai, Paraguai, e Brasil e está aberto a tod@s que quiserem contribuir. Será um espaço autogestionado de debates e produção cultural, com feiras de livros, shows de música independente, debates sobre a propriedade intelectual, produção cultural, transmissões de rádios e TVs comunitárias, oficinas de software livre e muito mais – ou o que aparecer.

La première AMACCA vient d’être crée en 2009. Elle préfigure une organisation sociale alternative dans le secteur culturel. AMACCA signifie : Associations pour le Maintien des Alternatives en matière de Culture et de Création Artistique. Cette initiative est une « AMAP Culturelle ». Son fonctionnement est basé sur le micro mécénat de « citoyens-spectateurs-producteurs ».
